Our May Literary Road Trip box takes us to the place where Nikki Giovanni, Dolly Parton, and Aretha Franklin were born. Cotton candy and moon pies were invented in this state, and it is home to the most visited National Park- Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We're traveling to Tennessee.
Kim Wright's Last Ride to Graceland is our featured book. This story follows Cory, a woman on a quest to discover the secrets of her mom's relationship with Elvis. This mother-daughter story will make you wonder how well any of us really know our parents. It also might be the most road trip themed book we have had in our Literary Road Trip series.
The May indie bookstore partner is Landmark Booksellers. Landmark Booksellers opened in 2005 and they're located in a historic building in Franklin. We've included their store sticker in this month's box and a longer post about this fabulous indie bookstore will be coming later in the month.
Also from Franklin, enjoy a bottle of Tennessee Whiskey bbq sauce from Southern City Flavors. Southern City Flavors is family business that opened in 1996. This sauce is amazing on both meat and veggies. Give it a try the next time you're grilling.
We are on a Literary Road Trip and this month’s box is about a road trip, so we have some book-themed car accessories. Keep your cup holders stylish and clean with a set of Car Coasters from Olivia Rose. Olivia Rose is a female design company from Midland, Texas. A linen scented car air freshener from Studio Oh! Studio Oh! Is stationary company from Irvine, California that opened in 2009. I hope that these items will keep you thinking about our Literary Road Trip, while you’re on your own adventures.
