June Literary Road Trip Box: Idaho

Contents of June 2024 Literary Road Trip Box from Books Inside Boxes

The June 2024 Literary Road Trip Box takes us to the "Gem State." This state is also home to the deepest river gorge in North America and highest navitable river in the world! It's known for its abundance of huckleberries and trout, but you'd probably think of potatoes when you think of Idaho! Our June Box is themed to Idaho, the 43rd state to join the union.

June's featured book is Ruth Ozeki's All Over Creation. This story of change and resistance follows Yumi, a middle-age woman who returns to her small Idaho town to care for her aging parents. Family dynamics and past difficulties make returning home a challenge, but Yumi also learns that her agricultural community is facing dramatic changes due to corporate farming. Ozeki's unique perspective and quirky characters attract me to her stories. All Over Creation is memorable and a fantastic choice for book club discussions.

The June Literary Road Trip Box is created in collaboration with Bookpeople of Moscow. Located on the western side of Idaho, Bookpeople of Moscow has been in business since 1973. The June box includes their branded bookmark and store drinks coaster. The image on the coaster is from a mural that they have inside of their store. A more in-depth blog post for Bookpeople of Moscow will come later this month.

Of course, you will need a new mug for your new coaster. Enjoy your favorite beverage using the bookshelf mug from Fly Paper Products. Jazz up your potatoes with a dash of Boise Spud Rub from Starlight Herb & Spice. Starlight Herb and Spice is a family-owned business located in Garden City, Idaho.

A very limited number of Idaho Literary Road Trip Boxes are available for single-sale purchase. Shipping within the United States is included in the purchase price.
