It’s February, and we’re visiting a state famous for bourbon and horses—the birthplace of bluegrass music, Reynolds Wrap, and Post-it Notes. George Clooney and Johnny Depp were born here, along with writers Bell Hooks and Marsha Norman. This month, we’re headed to the fifteenth state—Kentucky.
 
Our featured book is Ann Patchett’s debut novel, The Patron Saint of Liars. This unforgettable story follows Rose, a pregnant woman who leaves her husband and begins a new life at a home for unwed mothers in Kentucky. Her choice reshapes her future in ways she never could have imagined. It’s a beautifully written novel about secrets, found family, and the surprising paths life can take.
