November Literary Road Trip Box- Washington!

November Literary Road Trip Box Washington

We head to the pacific northwest with our November Literary Road Trip Box themed to the state of Washington. Washington has dramatic landscapes, including the bustling city of Seattle, coastal towns, and dramatic volcanoes, like Mount Rainer. Did you know that Washington has the most glaciers in the continental United States?

Our featured book, The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister follows a group of strangers who bond during a monthly cooking class at a Seattle restaurant. Each chapter explores a different charater as we learn about their private lives and why this cooking class is meaningful for them. The classmates bond over the course of the year, forming connections that will carry beyond the scope of the class. Bauermeister's beautiful story has themes of love, loss, and moving through the seasons of one's life. The story also has a perfect holiday connection as the characters prepare an unconventional Thanksgiving meal.

This month our indie bookstore collaboration is with Browsers Bookshop. Browsers is located in Olympia and has a fantastic history. They were established in the 1920's and have always been female-owned. A deeper-dive blog post about Browsers Bookshop will be coming later this month. Browsers' signature navy tote bag has been included in our November box. This heavy-duty tote is great for a substatial book haul!

Apples may rank high in what people think of, when they think of Washington, but the fertile soil means that Washington is prime area to grow many types of fruits. Taste the state with Wild Blueberry Tea from Cascade Botanicals. Cascade Botanicals is located in Everson and they package their boxes with a charming wood cut-out of a tea pot!

November is about taking the time to connect with family and friends. Delight a loved one with a snail-mail letter using book themed notecards from the company She Said It. We've included a trio of notecards with matching envelopes.

The sentiment on our book sticker is our seasonal wish for you. The stack of books with a pumpkin on top has this message, "Autumn air, cozy vibes, and a pile of books."

If you haven't already purchased a November box, a small number of remaining boxes are available in our store.
