August 2025 Literary Road Trip Box: Georgia (25th Box!!!)

Contents of the August 2025 Literary Road Trip box themed to Georgia

We’ve reached our 25th box in the Literary Road Trip series! Our August box takes us to the birthplace of writers Alice Walker, Flannery O’ Connor, and Carson McCullers. This state is home to Wesleyan College, the first college in the world that granted degrees to women. The state vegetable is the Vidalia sweet onion, and of course, this state is most famous for Coca-Cola. We are making a stop in the 4th state in the union: Georgia!

Sarah Addison Allen’s Lost Lake is our August book. After the loss of her husband, Kate takes her young daughter Devin to Lost Lake, a place where Kate’s great-aunt Eby has rental cabins. Eby has also lost her husband and is considering selling her property at Lost Lake. Lost Lake is a story of connection, grief, and the healing powers of a special place.

Our indie bookstore partner is Poe & Company Bookstore in Milton, Georgia. Owner Kate Seng named the store after her father’s love of Edgar Allen Poe. We’ve included their store sticker and bookmarks in the August box.

Georgia is the “Peach State,” and we have two peach treats for you to enjoy. The first is an 8oz jar of Lauri Jo’s Peach Salsa from Fourth and Cherry Foods. Fourth and Cherry Foods is a small-batch company in Ocilla, Georgia that supports local farms. The second taste is a box of Lottibelle’s Savannah Sweet Peach Iced Tea. A female-owned business, Lottiebelle’s opened in Savannah, Georgia in 2021.

Peach salsa and iced tea might get a bit messy, so make sure to use your book-themed cocktail napkins from Soiree Sisters. Soiree Sisters is a business in Denver, Colorado owned by two sisters who enjoy throwing parties!

All boxes are limited edition and when they sell-out, they are gone! Subscribe now to reserve upcoming boxes and to receive the lowest price. Shop the Books Inside Boxes store for remaining inventory on previous boxes and book-themed stickers.
